2013 in review: 12 July

I am continuing to post my "2103 in reveiw" series. I need to explain why it's taking this long to complete this series. I live in Butiama where I do not have broadband access and I have to wait until I travel to Mwanza or Musoma to get that access where posting with images is faster.

I am making more frequent visits to Mwanza now and hope to conclude the 2013 postings and start with the 2014 in review series.

At a fundraising gala in aid of Mwanza's Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS), High Court Judge Joaquine Antoinette De Mello of the High Court of Tanzania, below right, pledged her
undisclosed donation to the chief guest and former president of Tanzania, Benjamini William Mkapa, left. She said her profession's code of conduct prevented her from stating how much she was donating.

Fair enough, fair enough.

In Dar es salaam, I was walking in the Upanga area and looked up and noticed a colony of bats
flying overhead, heading west.

On 30th May 2013 I caught a glimpse of the completed thatched roof of the restaurant of the soon to be opened Mwitongo Lodge in Butiama.

The Mwitongo Lodge will be a stone's throw away from some of the premiere attractions - including this one - of the Butiama Cultural Tourism Enterprise.
